It’s crazy when ww2 is talked about. I remember studying in Japan and I asked Japanese friends what they know about it. Many of them don’t really know. Doesn’t get spoken about. Then I went to Hiroshima and saw families crying in the museum and at the dome where the bomb hit.

I believe the dropping of the atomic bomb was a net positive for the planet in hindsight, but can you imagine the people at the time? The people dropping the bombs, knowing how many civilians would die, without any foresight on how well the complete surrender of Japan would jump start the most advanced civilization on Earth. For them it was like, 'ok let's kill 100,000 civilians', it's inexcusable in that context. Although y'all were bananas, telling all of the islanders the US Troops would eat them, so they killed themselves when we approached their villages. That shit was happening everywhere in the south Pacific and Micronesia. And we were dying like crazy for every inch gained. And it gave the emperor a way to save face, Japan lost because of cruel bombs, unimaginable power, instead of incompetence in leadership. It's such a weird study in morality.
