Just because he explains where the tethered come from doesn't mean they stop being an allegory for class division, and also just because Jordan Peele and large parts of the cast are black doesn't mean it's only about how class division relates to black people
I went to a hall of mirrors in high school and it gave me vertigo that lasted a whole day and I had to go home.
B movies - don’t know about the USA but in merry old England in the 1940s/50s/60s cinemas showed double bills. The big budget blockbuster “A” feature film would be preceded by a shorter and lower budget “B” movie. The “B” movie would often be a genre film with stock characters and studio repertoire actors. Cheap horror films came out of this tradition leading to studios like Hammer.
I always thought "B Movies" came from the second, usually lower quality, movie in a double feature
Please do Psycho!
17:44 - Why does Spencer think Samwise Gamgee is from Minnesota...? 🤣
Please do honest horror trailers for The Craft please!
21:15 in the county fairs in Mexico, there's a hall (more like a maze) of mirrors, and yeah, its pretty unsafe
Tenet next week?
Does Screen Junkies have any Black folks on their staff? It would be really great for movies like this to have a POV from someone who is not white.
The Last Airbender (the live-action disaster of a movie) would have been worth the time to watch if everyone had been bombed outta their minds. Also, I think the Happening would've been made better, and Unbreakable, and... well, I guess what I'm accidentally realizing is that basically all M. Night Shyamalan movies would be better if they were wasted.
Us: scissors haven't been used in a slasher Halloween 4: am I joke to you
US is not a rewatch. Drag Me to Hell.
Random: hall of mirrors that you could get lost in appears in the book phantom of the opera before the film version of the broadway play was made and it's purpose was psychological torture.
Spencer being a new dad is showing by now...welcome to the club brother.. :-)
The best use of mirrors in a movie was in Yor Hunter from the Future.
Whaaaaaaaaaa. I thought i'd rush in an AND TWIIINS love note. but Spenny getting pragmatic with the head derailed me!
I associate halls of mirrors with 80s malls. The mall in my college town had mirror walls on either side of the escalators
I know the order im supposed to watch things, but I like the commentaries soo much. I wanna watch it first
To celebrate the release of Rebecca will you review the Hitchcock movie?
I miss the old screen junkies :(
I been in a hall of mirrors when on holiday in Spain. My sense of direction is pretty rubbish at times but I managed to find the way out easily. My mum really didn't enjoy it so for some it's not a fun experience.
The Phoenix Museum of Art has a hall-of-mirrors with hanging strips of LED lights in it.
They don’t just show up on your doorstep and wave, that was only Red’s family. You literally saw the tethered Tim Heidecker family ice their doppelgängers in a span of five seconds.
Rabbits ARE Creepy. They’re herbivores that eat their young. I totally get it.
When did Spenny shave his head?
joe is so funny “i mean worry about it but not for this” lmaooooo i actually did a spit take
Humans can not subsist on rabbit alone...
You actually can’t survive on just rabbit. It’s nutritionally deficient - you do have to have at least some veg too.
I wasn't ready for low fade Spencer. I WASN'T READY FOR LOW FADE SPENCER!
Honest trailer for the cornetto trilogy? 🤔
Hall of mirrors at Pier 39 in SF. Come on out, and I'll get the Groupons
That's two weeks in a row where I couldn't find the hidden "Alan!" Also, is next week The Mandalorian?
The panel had basically my exact take on Us: it was pretty much flawless for 90% until Jordan felt the need to explain everything (I honestly think it might have been a studio note given how the exposition is in literally only one scene). But even that last 10% didn't lose me because the rest of it built up so much good will, and created one of the best platforms for wild interpretations and lively discussions since The Shining. I can't wait for Jordan's next movie.
Omg can you do an honest trailer for Donnie Darko?
Please do princess diaries!!!!!!
Didn't realize I needed this so much!
TBF to Jordan Peele, I think most, if not all, of us have seen Watership Down.
So you guys ever went to see freaky starting that guy from the psycho remake?
B movie is a BUDGET movie
There’s a hall of mirrors at the Orange County Fair and the Haunted Hayride
Um, actually, The Clone Wars*is* Star Wars canon (said while sarcastically pushing up glasses)
Also “one racist cop with a gun” was an awful joke; so glad it didn’t make it in :S
You had the untethered Papa Roach in your comments...it's Nickelback!
Going to a hall of mirrors was something my sister and I always wanted to do because we only ever saw it in movies and we finally actually did get to go in one and it was kind of terrifying, but they do exist in those really old sketch carnivals that set up in parking lots type place.
Dial M For Murder is another example of the Hitchcock 3rd Act explanation monologue that nearly ruins the movie for me
Danielle finally got her "twiiiiiiins" reference in a commentary
Everything about Winston Duke is sexy. 🤷🏾♀️
This video just starts with “you slobs” and I would prefer Spenny didn’t call me out so directly.
@Jason Georgis oh I know that haha. But I am still affronted!
I think there was a problem with the stream and the video started like 15 seconds into his opening. Normally he does a little more to set the stage and introduce the panel so I suspect he was saying something to the effect of "I'm joined by you slobs"
Correct me if I’m wrong but B movie originates from old double features. The 1st film, or the A film, plays right before the lower quality/budgeted B film. B films are the stuff of Grindhouse, genre, horror, sci-fi, etc. Like the B side of an old vinyl record.
You said it better than I could sir. Thank you! I was thinking along those same lines when the panel sorta drew a blank lol
honest trailers guy "anchored by Lupita Nyong'o making a futile attempt to not look like a goddess" oh my, honest trailer guy go for it :) my wife approves lol
Where did they get the Michael Jackson t shirt??? (That's my question)
i have been in a hall of mirrors in the 80's precursor to Chuck E Cheese called Circus town that has a funhouse in the arcade the entrance was through a hall of mirrors
Next week MIGHT be Mandalorian
Scissors not scary? One of the orginal life lessons is don't run with them.
I hope Danielle is doing well, we haven’t seen her in awhile. This pandemic is doing a number on a lot of people’s mental health, so hope she’s ok and just taking time off
I chuckled so hard, they finally worked in Twiiiiiiiiiins! Hope to see her lovely face again soon 🤗
I saw Twinnz in the trailer and smiled because its one of her bits. Thought she'd be here for sure!
🤣 Spencer dropping the inward singing from Tenacious D 👏👏👏🤘🤘. How about an honest trailer for Pick of Destiny?
An Honest Trailer for Borat would be *very nice* I would like *so much*
Or Jordan Peele is a fan of Anya...
Joe and his wild hair is uber sexy 🤣❤️👍
I really like Honest Trailers Commentaries. They should release the trailer just by itself. I'd watch that.
Liking this post for all the replies that don't get the joke
Woosh
Uh oh, this joke went over a couple heads here.
Honestly don’t think it would work out. Like... millions of views or Emmy nominations or something? Absurd!
Screen junkies is their main channel where you can just watch the honest trailers 👍🏻
Please do a honest trailer for Halloween Town.
I know you’ve probably never heard of it but next year can you please do Halloween town. It’s a staple for every 90s and 2000s kid. It airs every October on the Disney Channel every single year to this day. There’s four movies total and in the fourth one they recasted the lead actress.
They’re so cheesy, great Honest Trailer fodder.
