  • It could be argued (by me, anyway) that Chuck is the first-ish person to change MMA completely. I predict a future, probably within 10-15 yrs, where takedown defense is so good and universally understood that it pushes the fight back to stand-up. I could be wrong though - maybe it will push the match to the fence instead.

  • Most of this video is good, but Khabib being number one seems to be heavily influenced by the time. He didn't really change MMA in close to as significant a way as many others on the list. It's a very odd pick.

  • Even if i don't like Mcgregor I can't deny the fact that he brought a whole lot of fans and when i say fans i meant those casuals who don't know jack shit MMA and have very loud stupid takes. Some even think Conor is the goat. #takebackyourfanswithyou.

  • Khabib is a great fighter, no doubt about it, but there are people way more relevant for the sport than him. The criteria here is because the way he retired, but that was just a couple of months ago. How's that relevant? Without people like Anderson Silva, Fedor, among a few others, a lot of us wouldn't be here talking about MMA.

  • How can you not mention Michael Bisping? How many European fans, TV stations and eyes did he bring to the sport? Please explain how Khabib has changed the sport? Nobody else has been undefeated so nothing has changed at all! It seems you put him in the video to bring more eyes to it, rather then staying with the facts. Which is what i have always loved about this channel. I hope this is not the new president for this channel.

  • Khabib GOAT talk is fucking ridiculous. Dude has a heavily padded record until he hits the UFC and then only takes fights that heavily favor his wrestling; retiring before he has to ultimately face someone who sleeps him in on shot out of the gate or he meets a bjj fighter who wants Khabib to take him down so he can maul the "GOAT" No disrespect to the ground monster that is Demian Maia, but if Demian beats you in 7 out of 10 fights, you aren't the GOAT. Demian beats Khabib in 8 of 10 fights. Khabib is the chicken. Not the goat. Goats will stand off with anybody.

  • Something else Khabib did was break some of the myth of the 'one discipline fighter.' Granted, he put a lot of work into improving his striking, and he improved it considerably (despite seemingly half the fanbase acting like he never progressed past his 2012 striking), but he was fundamentally a guy who only did one thing, everybody KNEW he was going to do that one thing, and still nobody could stop it. McGregor, Poirier and Gaethje all spoke at length before the fight about exactly what Khabib's strategy would be, and they were totally correct. And yet still, he did it all the same. A lot of fighters break their opponents. Khabib didn't just break them. He broke their entire teams, and broke their gameplans.

  • Jason, MMA on point i love all ya content and all but Khabib at #1 and Royce Gracie at #10 is down right wrong. Royce should be #1 or at least top 3 he really changed the world and MMA. Every fighter you had up there for the most part was influenced by or practiced a style he helped popularize. Khabib over everyone else on this list doesn't sit right.

  • Great vid, but I think you should’ve given Randy Couture a spot or at least an honourable mention. He was the first to start the trend of becoming a two division champ aswell as proving the younger fresher fighter doesn’t always win (Excluding his late career).

  • Khabib is and was s monster. Supremely talented and had he continued on his path of destruction for another two years or so and 4-5 more title defenses, or had he beaten GSP, hed have more claim to GOAT status, but as it sits. Hell perpetually somewhere 3/4-7/8

    FTLFTL25 päivää sitten
    • Had he not been injured from 2014-2016 McGregor would have NEVER taken the light weight strap hence Khabib would have arguably also had 3 to 4 more title defenses added to his belt!

Khabib opened some eyes for mma expecially in the middle east, incredible career, even better story, not taking anything away from him, but if you think he did more for mma then connor, the whole mma on point team is delusional.

  • Great video - really enjoyed it. My one nitpick is that Conor's Proper 12 logos at 229 aren't the same thing as fighters selling advertising on their shorts. Unless the UFC gave those spots away for free, that is. Which I think it's safe to say they didn't. Proper 12 surely paid a ton of money for that - and I'm sure it's available to other fighters as well. The ad inventory on fighter's shorts didn't cost fighters a thing. The one caveat here is that I'm sure these ad spots were negotiated in the same contract where Conor negotiated his compensation for the fight. So he might have gotten a better deal than an outside brand would have gotten. However, there's no way it was free. If this happened, Conor likely paid from his purse for the upside of growing his company's brand - and probably compensated himself from the brand since that was a essentially a business expense and not a personal one.

  • Man, even back in the day, I never could figure out what people liked about Tito, I've always thought, every time I've ever seen him, my god what a moron. I'm glad he did have the fans he did as it contributed to my favorite sport but I just can't figure out why. Every time I've ever seen him fight, I've always felt like he was lucky when he won, think about it, there is always a shady reason that he won. Tito sucks and he's an idiot.
