    • @Jeff Larson agreed. I’ve been a hockey fan for about 35 years, so I’m aware, but I like the rare gems where it isn’t about the game, but one human to another, even during, the game.

    • Just watch any post game interview. Hockey players are a different breed than most pro athletes. I rarely see one take credit for their own accomplishments. It's always about the team or their linemates, goalie, coach or anyone else they can give credit to.

  • It's funny how the good guys often get pummeled and beat up on the ice after they literally do something to protect another human being. Hell, it even happened in the Caps vs Islanders game last night. An Islanders forward made a hit that he was worried might be in the wrong location and so he eases off and then very gently places the guy on the ice to ensure no injuries. After that, Chara came over and instantly started punching him in the face. The Islander didn't throw a single strike and still got called for a 5 minute major fighting penalty. This league be pretty goofy.

  • 98% of the NHL player base, if put in these situations, would do the same thing. It’s the Tom Wilson’s, Matthew Tkachuk’s, Steve Ott’s, Antoine Roussel’s, etc that I want out of the league that don’t have the integrity or honor that the rest of the league and fans deserve. Those are the players that actively hurt your league.

  • I once did medical on a hockey game and the one player accidentally rode the opposing players back into the corner boards. The opposing players arms were trapped underneath him so he could not protect his head and neck. The player that rode on his back immediately called for the doctor to attend the other player. He knew his neck was broken. It was a terrible accident that neither meant to happen.

    Linda NWFirefighterLinda NWFirefighter9 päivää sitten
  • how about a “that wasn’t going in” or “it was going wide” video where players or goalies accidentally tip it or smack it or something into their own net, for example when the puck got stuck in the hurricanes goalies skate and he brought it into the net

    Joe RJoe R9 päivää sitten
  • I know sportsmanship is present in all sports at any given time but hockey is my sport so these videos are more powerfully emotional than say watching NBA players help each other off the floor. The Luongo and Sedin twins vid was extra special due the latter having both retired. And Luongo as a goalie rockin the captaincy was something I haven’t seen before or since. A bit of a ramble but the point I was eventually gonna get to is that today’s society seems to lack a certain level of politeness that it once had. People used to hide their hate and fear behind the notion that we could and should be better. Now the fear has overridden any sense of conscience to the point where 80 years after America defeated the Nazi war machine people now take to the streets to protest anti fascism. To be clear. If you are on the opposite side of anti fascism, you are fascist. What were the Nazis? Fascists.
