Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This FIworld channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

    • Hey Rick, do you feel that certain grips can make hitting fades and draws easier as well? I've had some inconsistent success with strong grips helping me hit a fade and weaker grips for a draw, but I've never focused on slightly closing the face at address. Thanks again for the great lesson

  • Tried a new swing this year cause of my weird overlap bone issue in my shoulder and I'm finally hitting 300 straight and I actually hit a draw for the first time ever, no idea how I did it but I think I'm starting to control it a bit more now lol. I got that active 2 golf edition watch from Samsung and omg I love that watch! It helps so much and its like extremely precise in where I am on the course, I highly recommend it!

  • Hi Rick, Regarding the low shot: can you explain more about your wrist action in this case? I watched your video a few times and it looked like you didn't do much at all. Please let me know what you think.

  • That was not even close to a low shot. I normally do the low shot with the i6. The only thing to adjust is the ball contact. I hit the middle of the ball with the bottom edge of the club. The ball flies approx. the same distance as a normal i6 but about 1m above ground, often in a nice fade or draw curve. High draw and fade are for the control freaks too. I usually go for a brutal hook or slice instead. All these variants I feel are a lot more natural than the plain straight hit which is a rare one in my arsenal.

  • This may be a dumb question. But to hit the ball lower, why would you de-loft and swing 80% power? Why wouldn't you just club up and hit 80%? It seems unnecessary to change your swing when you can get the same effect from just clubbing up, right? Or am I missing something?

  • Box of 9 works best when learning how to work the ball “visual “ like tic tak towy... working the ball takes years to learn how to master. Play in the wind and that will teach you real quick. Master a #7 or #8 iron first and never drop “speed” like you said. That makes no sense as a retired golf pro and bike golf fitting professional.

  • My thought process for these shots: Low: narrow stance, ball back 1-2 balls from normal, low hand finish High: Ball up 1-2 balls, high hand finish Fade: Aim club where I want fade to start, body aimed twice as left of clubhead. Focus on path along toeline. Occasionally ball up in stance. Draw: same as fade but out to right and occasionally ball back.

  • Good instructional video. My normal ball flight is a draw to help me keep my hands and arms "quiet" on a fade I slightly rotate my right hand under the club. Most high handicap golfers that hit slices I have noticed that their right hand is rotated under the club and have suggested to many of them to grip the club with their right hand rotated more over the top,it often times has corrected their slice.

  • After yearsss and years of hitting a slice, and then only a fade naturally. And trying hard to correct it properly past 3 seasons....i can finally now hit a nice controlled draw most of the time when i try to and its feels absolutely magnificent! Especially with long irons off the tee on needed holes. Its actually hard to hit a fade now when i want....unless i just miss hit it.
